Sachin Vs Punter - Who is the best?

The very interesting question this year who is the best batsman in the world in test cricket, but don’t dare 'yes' we are talking about two genius Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Australian Skipper Ricky Ponting.

Tendulkar became the first Test cricketer to pass 13000 runs on Sunday with a bang hitting his 44th century on the second day of the first test against Bangladesh in Chittagongon Monday. Tendulkar was unbeaten on 105 and single handedly guided Team India to a respectable 243 in the first innings. However, Tendulkar, whose century yesterday is the second at this venue, ran out of partners as Ishant  Sharma, who did not add to his score of one, and SSreesanth  (1) could not give him company for long.

Australian Skipper Ricky Ponting stands next to him with 39 Test centuries. The speculations and arguments over Sachin and Ponting are almost approaching an end, as both of these world class players of contemporary cricket, are approaching the end of their careers.

There had been hot arguments and debate, from the time these two players started being notified. Both are contrasting in nature and have different styles and both are right handed batsman. Both have reached many spectacular personal milestones and have been praised by the cricket fans all over.

But there was always a major question. Who is the best among the two? At one point Sachin Tendulkar made a point with his stellar performance, that he is the King among the Kings. Australian Skipper is also putting claims for the best batsman. Sachin has become of his former self and is more aggressive Sachin of the past.

According to me there is no question who is the better of the both! It’s an obvious choice. Sachin has been the best batsmen in the world. Australian skipper scored 209 runs against Pakistanin the 3rd Test match at Oval Hobart.

Ponting scored his fifth double century of his great career after he and his deputy Michael Clarke, accentuated Pakistan's misery by posting Australia's second highest fourth wicket partnership of 352 runs.

Recent form of Ponting made everyone to start thinking if he is the best! lets see. Sachin is the undisputed leader with respect to overall career records.

However, all critics always tend to say that Tendulkar doesn't perform well in pressure situations, but Ponting always perform in pressure in very crucial innings in most of important matches, it’s being always ponting specialty.

Punter ODI  debut, during a quadrangular tournament in New Zealand  in a match against  South Africa  in 1995. His also test debut in 1995 home series against Sri Lanka in Perth, in which he scored 96. He lost his place in the national team several times in the period before early-1999, due to lack of form and discipline, before becoming ODI captain in early-2002 and Test captain in early-2004. Ponting has played 142 Tests with (55.67 batting average), 330 ODIs with (43.19 batting average).

Ponting is Australia's leading run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket, with more than 24,000 international runs.

He has scored (39) Test centuries behind only Indian  Sachin Tendulkar (44) and third for most runs and centuries in ODIs behind Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and  Sanath Jayasuriya.

Also look at the number of test played by India and Australiain this calendar year. India plays only few test matches when compared to Aussies. This affects the scoring rate of a great batsmen like Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. The batting maestro also holds the record of scoring maximum number of runs in ODIs. He has scored 17,394 runs with the help of 45 tons.

It will see the very interesting this year, Ponting will break the records of 44th century of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar?

Sachin and Ponting we'll pray for you God May bless with what ever you desire and we want you’ll continue entertainment in the world cricket and will entertain you all the fans in the world.
